PIERRE MOLINIER

Pierre Molinier (April 13, 1900 – March 3, 1976) was a painter, photographer and "maker of objects". He was born in Agen (France) and lived his life in Bordeaux (France). He began his career by painting landscapes, but his work turned towards a fetishistic eroticism early on. Molinier started his erotic production around 1950. With the aid of a wide range of specially made 'props' – dolls, various prosthetic limbs, stiletto heels, dildos and an occasional confidante – Pierre Molinier focused upon his own body as the armature for a constructive form that ultimately produced a large body of photographic work. Most of his photographs, photomontages, are self-portraits of himself as a woman. He began a correspondence with André Breton and sent him photographs of his paintings. Later Breton integrated him into the Surrealist group. Breton organized an exhibition of Molinier's paintings in Paris, in January–February 1956. In the 1970s, Molinier's health began to decline. Like his father before him, Pierre Molinier committed suicide at 76 years of age by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

CHINA HAMILTON

China Hamilton, has established a considerable global reputation as photographer of fine art erotic images of women. His work has often examined the darker side of female sexuality alongside his more traditional erotic pictures. Much of his later work is inspired by sadomasochistic subjects. This particular theme has made this aspect of his work controversial though its reflection upon the power and private expression of women has brought a new sensitivity and respect to this subject. His unique and distinctive style of image has often been the inspiration for the work of other photographers.ttp://www.chinahamilton.com/

ENRICO ROBUSTI

"Two centuries after Francisco Goya, we find a similar approach to creation in Enrico Robusti’s paintings. Following his degree in law, Robusti devoted himself to the study of XVII century painting technique, with a particular focus on the work of van Dyck and Rubens. For about fifteen years his paintings and portraits had been informed with traditional elements; however, with the turn of the millennium, Robusti felt the urge to find a new way of expressing his artistic personality. The result of this shift is an utterly original approach to both technique and subject matter.

His bold handling of paint and perspective generate multifaceted compositions, oneiric, constantly on the verge of nightmares. The sophisticated use of a quasi-fisheye perspective enables Robusti to artificially widen the scope of his depiction and at the same time to play with the distortion effect, making the protagonists of his stories incisive caricatures. The Albemarle Gallery is pleased to introduce this incredibly talented artist, in the year of his celebration at the Venice Biennale." http://www.albemarlegallery.com/artists/enrico-robusti
